Top 3 Retrospec Skateboard Review
Retrospec Tidal Drop-Down Skateboard
Specifications:
Retrospec Tidal Drop Down is a 41″ freestyle longboard with an artisan look. It is made up of a 9-ply Canadian Maple wood deck. The top-notch quality of the deck makes it equally good for both beginners and pro skateboarders.
Additionally, the 9.5″ wide and 41″ long deck delivers more stability by providing you with more space for your foot placement. The specialty of this Retrospec skateboard is its drop-down shape which spells out the extra balance.
While downhill and high-speed skateboarding, the only thing that can affect your performance is poor balance. To solve this problem, retrospec tidal drop-down comes with pre-applied gritty grip tape, so you can ride over it confidently.
Moreover, it comprises 70 by 55 mm polyurethane wheels durable enough to serve you on all terrains without breaking down. These wheels have high rebound bushings that remain stable and responsive while extreme riding sessions.
The ABEC-7 rated high precision stainless steel bearings add sturdiness to the wheels. They allow the wheels to spin smoother and faster without pins and needles. 180mm smooth reverse kingpin trucks firmly connect the wheels and deck and make this skateboard capable of bearing 220 pounds of weight.

Our Verdict
Retrospec tidal drop-down comes with durable construction and 9-ply Canadian Maple wood deck, and high-quality metal trucks. It is ideal for carving, cruising, and freestyle tricks due to its ABEC-7 steel bearings. The 70mm polyurethane wheels ensure faster rolling on paved roads.
Retrospec Alameda Skateboard
Specifications:
Retrospec Alameda is a standard skateboard (concave-shaped) with a 31″ wide and 7.5″ long deck. Frosting on the cake is that the deck is made of 7-ply maple wood, which indicates that the skateboard will be under your feet for a long time.
It will allow you to stand and ride with full control because it comes with pre-applied extra gritty grip tape on the deck. Moreover, the deck is connected to the polyurethane wheels with the help of 5.5″ slant kingpin trucks made of premium aluminum.
These wheels have a 95A durometer rating, meaning they are hard. So, you can use a Retrospec Alameda Skateboard for street skating and performing tricks, but it is not suitable for high-speed rides due to the hardness of the wheels.
Additionally, the ABEC-7 rated premium bearings enable the wheels to turn smoothly, which allows you to perform advanced skateboarding tricks. The rubber dust cover on these skateboard bearings makes them low-maintenance as you do not have to worry about cleaning them after every use.
You can carry out any trick with proper balance because of enough concave on the deck. What I like about Retrospec Alameda is that it comes in various designs and colors to fit every skater’s needs.

Our Verdict
If you are looking for a high-quality product with catchy graphics, which can withstand 100s hours of skating, then Retrospec Alameda Skateboard is a perfect choice. Whether you are a beginner in skateboarding or just a pro expert, it will be perfect for your needs. All features combined make it worth buying.
Retrospec Quip Mini Cruiser Skateboard
Specifications:
Unlike the other two Retrospec skateboards I have reviewed in this post, Quip Mini Cruiser is a plastic deck skateboard. I know that a Maple wood deck is incredible regarding durability and strength, but the plastic deck offered in this skateboard is also reliable.
You can easily ride over it if your weight is nearly 220 pounds without breaking it. Due to the plastic in making this board, it does not have pre-applied grip tape, but you can apply it by purchasing a grip tape yourself.
But I do not feel you will need it because the molded waffle pattern on the plastic makes it gritty enough to give you a perfect balance for professional skating. If you look at the deck, you will notice that its tail is elevated to give it a fish-like look.
Thanks to its portable size, you can easily put this skateboard in your backpack and carry it wherever you go. Besides that, the 88A polyurethane wheels are not too soft and hard, so that you can use this board for every purpose.
It is equipped with lightweight and high-precision carbon bearings that do not get wear and tear that easily. The cherry on the top is 5″ steel trucks which will improve your balance, control, and maneuverability for fine-tuning your skating skills.

Cons
Our Verdict
Retrospec 27″ Quip Mini Cruiser Skateboard is worthy compared to its rivals on the market as it offers better features at an affordable price. From design to performance, it catches the attention of everyone due to its incredible quality. If you are low on budget but want a decent skateboard to get started, give it a try.
What Should You Consider Before Buying Any Retrospec Skateboards In The List?
You should consider the following things in mind when buying any one of the Retrospec skateboards from the above list:
Deck (Width and Length)
I suggest you look at the width and length of the skateboard while selecting the right one. For example, if you are big-footed, you need to buy a skateboard with more surface area. The same goes for heavy skateboarders. If you fall in that category, you should go for Retrospec Tidal Drop Down Skateboard.
Wheels
All the Retrospec skateboards are made of polyurethane wheels which are elastic and durable. Skateboard wheels are categorized on durometer rating as it defines how hard the wheel is. If a skateboard wheel has a low durometer rating, it shows that wheels are soft and that high rating indicates that wheels are hard. Soft wheels are good for downhill skateboarding, whereas hard wheels suit those who want to perform tricks.
Shape
The shape of a skateboard is what determines its performance. Every Retrospec skateboard’s shape differs from others, which adds uniqueness to them. Alameda skateboard has a standard skateboard design, whereas the Quip Mini Cruiser skateboard has a fish-like shape. On the other hand, the Tidal Drop Down longboard has a drop-down design.
Weight
When it comes to weight, it is crucial to choose a lightweight skateboard as children and teenagers are going to use it. If your kids ride these boards every day, they should be light so they do not tire around town. If the skateboard is too heavy, it will not feel comfortable enough when riding on it during short-distance rides.
Final Words
RetroSpec has done a splendid job in creating super skateboards at a reasonable price, making it the best value-for-money choice for all skaters, be they beginners or professionals. The guarantee of durability and unmatched riding experience makes this brand a good investment for a skateboarder. Go ahead and get any Retrospec skateboard today. I bet you will not regret your decision.
